Samuel began his career at Crédit Agricole in Hong Kong, where he founded and led the Private Banking and Asset Management franchise for Southeast Asia. He then joined the Edmond de Rothschild Group in 1992, taking on increasing responsibilities before becoming CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management in 1997 and later Managing Director of EdR SA.

He co-founded the Edmond de Rothschild Equity Strategy (ERES), sits on the Investment Committee of ERES III, and acts as a Senior Advisor to ERES IV.
